The Learning Is for Everyone (LIFE) community education program is dedicated to providing educational opportunities for the people of Geary County, Ft. Riley and the surrounding area. It is based on the premise that the quality of life in any community is dependent upon the opportunity for the personal development of its individual citizens. LIFE provides a means for people to share their knowledge, exchange ideas and pursue their interests through lifelong learning.

LIFE is actually an organization of organizations. To pool their resources and coordinate their efforts, several local groups with common missions have formed a partnership that will allow them to expand their programs and services by reaching more and teaching more. The current partners include the City of Junction City, Cloud County Community College, Dorothy Bramlage Public Library, Geary Community Hospital, Geary County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Geary County Health Department, Geary County K-State Research & Extension, Geary County Senior Center, Junction City Arts Council, Junction City Parks and Recreation Department, Konza Prairie Community Health Center, Milford Nature Center, and USD 475.

Each agency is responsible for their own programs, including registering students & collecting fees. Keeping that in mind, registration is as easy as 1-2-3!

  1. Check the catalog listings for any classes you or your family might enjoy this semester. For each one, look at the line marked “Registration deadline” to see if any advanced sign-up is required.
  2. If so, check the line marked “Sponsored by” to see which one of the Learning Is for Everyone partners is responsible for that class.
  3. Contact the sponsoring agency to sign-up and pay any associated fees.

It’s that simple!

Each agency has its own policy regarding class cancellations, refunds, and rescheduling. Please direct any ques-tons regarding classes in which you might be interested to the organization listed as the sponsor.

If you have a suggestion for a class you would like to see added to the schedule or if you are interested in teaching a class on a particular topic, please contact the Dorothy Bramlage Public Library. LIFE is based on the philosophy that anyone can learn and anyone can teach. Your ideas for ways to expand and improve the program will be gladly accepted!
